In the recent months, we have been helping many people optimising their sleep quality and we have realised that there is a common issue when it comes to poor sleep.
The number one factor for poor sleep, whether you cannot fall asleep or stay asleep (for example waking up at 2 or 3am) is caffeine and it seems like there is a lot of misinformation about where caffeine can be found.
Caffeine can be found in the following foods and drinks:
– Coffee
– Decaf coffee
– Black tea
– Green tea (jasmine tea is green tea)
– Oolong tea
– White tea
– Matcha
– Kombucha
– Chocolate & candy bars
– Cacao
– Colas & Mountain Dew
– Energy drinks (Monster / Number 1 / Red Bull, etc.)
– Pre-workout powders
– Some snack bars
– Gus & other Energy Gels
Are you having trouble resting well?
Make sure you gradually cut down on these products by giving yourself a curfew: a good time is 2pm. You will be energised for the afternoon but not wired at night.
If 2pm is still too late and you cannot sleep well, slowly move the curfew one hour at a time until you only consume those products in the morning before 9am.
