There are many things you can do to start your day on the right foot! Here are some easy tips:
1) Make sure you wake up at your desired time, not with the light
Wear an eye mask when you sleep, this will help you stay asleep in the first hours of the morning, adding a few extra ‘zzz’ to your night. This is especially important if you go to bed after 9pm, since the sun rises around 5am in HCMC and you should aim for 8 hours of good sleep every night.
2) Set you alarm to a nice sound
Ideally something that starts low and grows in momentum. For iPhones, you might want to pick something like Ripples, or Silk. It is important not to wake up to an alarming noise, instead use a more natural sound. Also, make sure you deactivate the vibration.
3) Rehydrate your body with water
Drink at least 500ml of water before doing anything in the morning, you have been off water for a very long period and you might be especially dehydrated if you slept with the AC on.
4) Do some exercise
Move your body before your brain can say ‘no’. Gentle exercise like walking, biking, and yoga sun salutations will provide you with long lasting energy throughout the day.
5) Have a wholesome breakfast
Make sure you always have a wholesome breakfast available: fruit & nut oatmeal, green smoothie, wholesome granola with nut milk, Meal Replacement Bars, Organic Chia Mango Pudding, Sweet Potato Protein Brownies, these are all great options!
