One minute review: Vegan Kitchen, vegan restaurant

Address: 23 Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh, Phường 22, Bình Thạnh District, close to the Manor

Food type: Vegan Vietnamese Food

Taste: 6 / 10 stars

Variety of dishes: 2 / 10 stars – very small menu, many mock meats, everything refined-grains based

Price range: 45k-70k VND

Cleanliness level: 6 / 10 stars

Organic: only coffee

Dietary requirements catered for: nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free

Negative points:

  • no desserts available (we went almost exclusively for that reason, as you do!!)
  • absolutely excessive use of salt so much so that after ordering the pho, the 3 of us woke up with swollen faces and swollen hands (we think it might have been the salt, hopefully they don’t use MSG)
  • everything is refined, only refined noodles and rice, mock meats in almost every dish
  • many syrups at the bar, makes you wonder what’s inside the drinks, no ingredients listed anywhere and difficult to communicate with the staff to find out

Positives: beautiful venue, basic English speaking staff and very cheap

Watch out for: salt, that’s probably the most evident effect we have ever seen from eating at a restaurant; noodles (white rice and white wheat) and mock meats (soy isolates and flavouring)

Don’t miss: blueberry smoothie, probably made with syrups tho since it was extremely sweet
